High-temperature fuel cells and electrolyzer cells
The high-temperature programme introduces oxide cells, i.e., solid oxide fuel cells (SOFC) and solid oxide electrolyzer cells (SOEC). The main topics are as follows:
- Materials: electrolyte & electrodes
- Cell and stack designs
- Manufacturing
- Characterisation
- Modelling
- Degradation
- System technology
Note that the programme shares a number of the overarching lectures as well. Here are the topics
- Brief introduction to fuel cells, electrolyzers and batteries
- Thermodynamics and Efficiency
- Characterisation Methods
- Atomistic Modelling
are covered
