Low-temperature fuel cells and electrolyzer cells

The low-temperature programme introduces cells working at below 200 oC and the emphasis is on alkaline cells (fuel cells, AFC, and electrolyzers, AEC) and proton exchange membrane cells (fuel cells, PEMFC, and electrolyzers, PEMEC). The main topics are as follows:

  • Electrolytes and ionic conductivity
  • Catalysts and kinetics
  • Electrodes
  • Stacking
  • Systems technology
  • Degradation
  • Implementation
  • Hydrogen storage

Note that the programme shares a number of the overarching lectures as well. Here the topics

  • Thermodynamics and Efficiency
  • Characterisation Methods
  • Atomistic Modelling

are covered
